Mr Javed Chaudry there is certainly a solution for everything.. if there is a will there is a way!!! But sadly.. and I hate to say this that the will is “nadarad” . There are layers upon layers of not bureaucracy but corruption everywhere in Pakistan. Just dress up in an ordinary man’s garb one day and check it for your self. You write from a position of privilege who moves in higher circles of life .. you have no idea what it must be like to exist in a rudderless ship… THere are all these wonderful things that can be done and some of them are inexpensive and even free… BUT WHAT IS STOPPING THE AUTHORITIES FROM CARRYING OUT eg SIMPLE HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES IN HOSPITALS??? This really is the million or billion dollar question???? It is encouraging to see that at least someone is thinking and writing about such issues … but it is naive of you to think that the authorities will take notice of your column!!!

In UK, every area has a General Practictioner. He is incharge of the people who live in his area and are registered with him. all medical history of the patient is on the computer and is available all over the country. Every doctor has his number and log in ID. He has to enter all details and suggested medicines of the patient in the system.
This is AMAZING and this helps in many ways.
any doctor in any part of the country can see the previous medical history of the patient which helps him choose correct medicines for him.
Doctor’s knowledge is tested and can be prosecuted.
Patients get to know about things as well.
Computer is common now. and every doctor can have a laptop or PC.
